Chart notes
SUMMER VIBES was settled in the two path early, swung six wide in the upper stretch, made a bid to be clear by the furlong marker and held off a bid from BLACK EMPIRE and proved best gamely. BLACK EMPIRE chased from the inside, was coaxed at the five sixteenths marker, came into the three path off the turn and made a bid to test the winner in the furlong grounds and needed more but was clearly second best. KITTY'S SON slightly brushed an opponent after leaving the starting gate, settled back in the two path, shifted in to the inside in the far turn, was steadied by the five sixteenths and improved to be up for third. PIETRELCINA was reserved early on the inside, advanced on the turn three to four wide and made a belated rally but just missed the show award. KAUAI BREEZE was brushed soon after leaving the starting gate, settled back on the inside, came out four wide on the bend and had a mild late gain. BRIGHTY prompted the pace and advanced two wide, dueled briefly with the leader, floated to be in the five path in the upper stretch and weakened in the final furlong. GRAND KINGDOM was settled mid pack four wide on the backstretch, angled into the two path in the upper stretch and weakened in the drive. CADDIEMASTER set an unchallenged early pace, dueled an upcoming rival on the far turn and faded in the final furlong.
