Chart notes
LOVESICK BLUES settled off the rail in the early going, moved into the two path for the turn, angled out and came five wide into the stretch, closed in under left handed encouragement, inhaled HEJAZI past the sixteenth pole and won going away. HEJAZI showed the early under pressure from ROLL ON BIG JOE to the outside, cleared that rival around the bend, kicked away in upper stretch, carried a diminishing lead into the final sixteenth and yielded to LOVESICK BLUES late. WORLD RECORD tracked two wide then between rivals into the turn, spun three wide into the lane, finished willingly down the stretch but lacked the needed late punch. DR. VENKMAN raced in range from inside, came under a ride approaching the quarter pole, cut the corner into the lane but lacked further response. ROLL ON BIG JOE pressed HEJAZI from outside up the backstretch, could not keep pace with that rival at the five-sixteenths pole, chased two then three wide to the lane and flattened out. CRAZY MASON was outrun early, trailed on the inside through the turn, steered out in upper stretch and improved position. SMOOTH CRUISEIN was reserved in the early stages, moved to the inside, saved ground around the bend, moved out in the lane and lacked a rally. SPIRIT OF MAKENA was forwardly placed four deep up the backstretch, remained wide to the stretch and faded. MBAGNICK (CHI) raced up close three deep between rivals, weakened around the bend and tired down the lane.
