Chart notes
ZOZAN off slow to begin, rushed three wide in the early stages, pressed three wide to the turn then battled LACE UP past mid-stretch, shook free of that rival into the final sixteenth and drew clear late. AUSTONIAN tracked the pace to the turn, rallied four wide into the stretch, could not reel in the winner late but was up in time for second. LACE UP set pressured pace inside, battled ZOZAN to final sixteenth, yielded in deep stretch and just missed for second, while just holding for third. MR SCATTER close up early on, took back, roused five wide upper stretch, found his best stride late and just missed the minor awards. MAJOR KING pressed the pace between foes to turn, gave way past quarter pole. GOLDEN SKULL rated off early pace, tracked inside to turn, no late response. HABERDASHERY lacked early speed, no factor.
