Chart notes
SOLO RING contended the early pace inside of TICKET TO THE TOP, disposed of rival nearing the quarter pole, fended off a strong late challenge from AL REICHERT into the stretch, dug in deep, and held on bravely in the final yards. AL REICHERT tracked four wide in the backstretch, was asked to quicken in the final turn, moved up menacingly alongside SOLO RING but could not get by. ITSALLGOODMAN stalked the dueling pacesetters, bid inside nearing the stretch, and lacked the kick needed. HANK OLLIE trailed the field, and lodged a late bid outside. TICKET TO THE TOP pressed the early pace, was unable to move on with the eventual winner and gave way.
