Chart notes
FIRST CAPE was not engaged in the early pace, settled well behind through the initial stages, then gradually advanced down the backstretch while keeping to the inside path, got a clear run through the far turn, responded to urging past the quarter pole, and finished up well to win clear under a hand ride. BRADFORD moved up after the start to challenge BROTHER RYAN on the lead, took command with three furlongs to run and opened up a big lead into the stretch, finished up well but had no response when FIRST CAPE powered past in mid-stretch, but was a clear second. ONEMOTIME raced inside near the front of the group chasing the runaway leader, broke away from that pack to go after that foe midway through the turn, was unable to generate the needed rally but kept on to hold the third spot. B D ENVISIONIST raced three wide in the trailing group, moved up through the turn, still wide, then lacked the needed response in the stretch. STANLEY LITTLE BOY broke a beat slow then came out awkwardly, bobbled a couple of strides out of the gate, raced three wide throughout, finished evenly while never a serious threat. SWEET CANDY BOY was unable to keep up with the pace after the start, dropped to last far behind the field, went five-wide into the stretch and outfinished a couple of stragglers but was otherwise never a factor. RIGHTDOWNTHELINE settled two-deep in the middle of the pack, struggled to keep pace through the turn and faded. WAY TOO TOUGH lacked any early speed, was grinding it out under urging in the stretch, but had little to offer. BROTHER RYAN inherited the early lead, dueled with BRADFORD a couple lengths clear of the rest, gave way passing the three furlong pole, was eased into the stretch and allowed to gallop to the finish line.
