WAR COURT had an ideal set up isolated rating kindly under a snug hold behind the contesting pair in the early going, cruised up three wide at the three eighths pole, pounced three wide at the quarter pole, battled determinedly outside down the entire stretch and just prevailed from a stubborn frontrunner in a photo at the wire. JAYHAWK took this field into the first of two turns dictating a soft pace in the beginning, slowed the tempo down even further while hounded outside along the backstretch, continued to move well narrowly up top on the rail in the final turn, slugged it out on the inside, never wavered on the rail down the lane but just missed holding on for the wire-to-wire win. HARLAN ESTATE stalked outside in the third flight, gradually came around horses improving three wide on the last turn, shifted out in the four path in the hunt straightening out for home, was no match for the lead pair in mid-stretch but still ran on willingly to save the third place prize at the finish line. JUNIPERO SERRA was allowed to settle at the rear early on, co-trailed outside by the half, advanced three wide around rivals with three furlongs still to run, swung out widest in the six path moving up at the top of the lane and found his best stride late to just miss out closing at the finish line for the show award. LAST DAWN had the rail near the rear in the beginning, narrowed the margin on the leader on the fence by the half, edged up saving all the ground on the last bend, scraped paint having a chance for a piece of the prize turning for home but evened out inside horses in the final eighth of a mile. FLY THE W was situated close to the back of the field settling on the fence, co-trailed inside with a half mile remaining, saved ground closing the gap on runners on the far turn, shifted out two wide for the drive and finished up mildly on the fence passing foes inside in the last furlong. COOL KISS travelled close to the back of the pack outside runners, made no progression along the backside, was going the wrong way in the two path between horses by the five sixteenths pole, shifted to the five path at the top of the stretch and passed a few rivals outside in the final furlong. DETERMINEDLY had the inside position with two others stalking in the third flight, improved down the backside to sit behind the embattled duo at the half with the eventual winner to his inside, waited to move behind the lead threesome sitting on the rail in the far turn, had aim on the dueling leaders in the two path in upper stretch but failed to fire in the late running. MALIBU MAMBO settled in the third flight between rivals, was asked for more run holding position but could not make any gain on the far turn, angled out five wide turning for home but lacked a finish to the wire. DUKE OF LOVE hounded the pace on the outside in the early stages of the race, was scrubbed on between foes up top but could not continue on with the lead pair by the quarter pole. shifted three wide for the drive being in tight quarters in upper stretch and folded by the furlong marker.
