Chart notes
THE JACKAL was reserved early and then made a big three wide run after the last jump on the far turn and drew off in the final furlong under a vigorous handling. IN EFFECT was allowed to settle early, bobbled over jump five and then made a inside run on the far turn to be in contention by the furlong marker and ran on while no match for the winner but clearly second best. PERFECT REEL (IRE) chased the leader for the first circuit, made a bid over the eighth fence and gained a short lead leaving the last fence, then was headed leaving the furlong marker and faded while staying on for the show award. AWESOME MAN was reserved on the inside under a good hold, made a four wide run on the far turn but flattened out in the final furlong while besting the rest. GRATIA PRINCE chased the pace on the inside and made a bid after the last jump to be in contention on the far turn but tired in the final furlong. OCEAN CITY was settled back early and jumped poorly while being no factor. SPEAK UNITY was reserved on the inside and failed to menace. BASELINE BEATER showed the way early and opened up a big lead and was headed after the eighth jump and then gave way on the far turn.
