Chart notes
PRIVMAN raced up close outside the pacesetter, drew alongside with three furlongs remaining, dueled into the lane, took over at the top of the stretch but started to lug in, lost command past the eighth pole, fought back inside LYELL'S SONG in deep stretch, dug in while taking contact late and edged the runner-up. LYELL'S SONG stalked the speed along the inside, tipped out to the three path around the far turn, stormed to the front past the eighth pole, carried a short lead over PRIVMAN into the final sixteenth, drifted in and bumped PRIVMAN late and got outfinished. TESSUTO set the pace from inside, took pressure from PRIVMAN at the three-eighths pole, maintained a short lead through the far turn, relinquished the lead to PRIVMAN at the top of the lane and got floated in by that rival shortly after, fought with the top pair to midstretch and weakened in the last sixteenth. VASA got bumped between rivals into the first turn, tracked two then three wide around the bend, continued off the rail to the second bend, moved into the two path then angled out and came four wide into the stretch and could not rally. FEEL THE MAGIC got bumped entering the clubhouse turn, moved into the two path, angled out on the second bend, came four wide into the lane and had little left for the drive. MARY'S BOY BOLT bumped with VASA while racing three deep into the first turn, moved out to the four path around that bend, was ridden along while falling back in the middle stages, remained wide to the far turn, was not persevered with around the second bend, eased to the wire and walked off.
