Chart notes
NUCLEUS broke alertly to be first away, settled off the hurried early leaders, edged up to press the pacesetter nearing the half mile pole, dueled on the lead to the head of the lane, kicked clear in mid-stretch and held the fast closing runner-up safe at the line. ROYALAMERICAN broke in crowding rival, straightened away to be near the back of the strung out field early, commenced a sustained rally nearing the three-eighths pole around rivals, angled inside when clear near the quarter pole, tipped back out four wide for the drive and was gaining with every stride late. PASS THE ROSES tracked the leaders through the turn to be well placed and made a grinding bid through the lane to be along for the show. WEST OF TOWN hustled up to take the lead, set a pressured pace for a half, ran-on in upper stretch as no match for the winner and tired inside the eighth pole. PONTOTOC crowded down towards the rail at the break, settled at back early and passed tired rivals coming home. PHOTOSHOPPED was well placed stalking the early pace into the turn and faded midway on the bend. LEAVENODOUBT was not a threat. LYMAN showed some early foot, dropped back along the rail racing greenly and was distanced.
