Chart notes
HAPPY STRIKE saved ground around the first turn, tracked the pace up the backstretch, waited patiently for a clear path along the inside with three furlongs left to run, angled out and put to a drive two wide at the head of the lane, responded gamely, roused forward, put a head in front leaving the furlong marker and kept clear. TIME TO FLY led the way around the first turn, set a pressured pace up the backstretch, edged away on top near the quarter pole, saved ground entering the upper stretch, got collared by the winner leaving the furlong marker and held place. WINNEMAC AVENUE raced along the rail under a snug hold entering the first turn, steadied slightly then continued to tug a bit wanting to do more while being rated off the early pace, let out a notch entering the far turn, came under firm handling two wide in the lane and ran on with response. LOCHMOOR raced in contention around the first turn, stalked up the backstretch, came under a ride three wide near the quarter pole, came four wide into the lane and flattened out. UXMAL was forwardly placed around the first turn and pressed the pace up the backstretch, remained in close range around the final turn then weakened in the lane. ZATARA raced off the top two flights going by the half mile marker, came under a ride four wide late on the turn, came five paths wide entering the head of the lane and failed to move on.
