Chart notes
SMOKIN JOE gained a narrow lead soon after the start, set a pressured pace into the stretch, shook clear before the furlong marker and won under mild right handed urging. RIVER BYE unhurried early, rallied through the stretch four wide and finished clear for second. DIXIE'S MEMORY drifted out at the start, vied for the lead four then two wide and went evenly. RUN PANCITA was bumped from his outside at the start then failed to menace. MOBIL MISSION stumbled badly into RUN PANCITA at the start, trailed into the stretch then passed tiring rivals late. STRIKE PLATE pressed the pace four then three wide into the stretch then gave way. PROFESSOR NICK had brief speed. LAST MINUTE MIKEY pressed the early pace three then two wide and was through after a half.
