Chart notes
CITIZEN trailed early, circled rivals rapidly through the turn, responded under left handed urging with a burst of speed inside the sixteenth pole and was along in time. PRINSIPITO bobbled at the start, pressed the pace two wide for four and one half furlongs, made the lead, edged clear late then was no match for the winner. EILEEN'S DESPERADO sprinted to the front soon after the start, set a pressured pace to the three sixteenths pole, kept on past the furlong marker and faded late. TAKE DICTATION failed to menace. MARAVICH was no factor. DIXIE MAN had no impact. UNION SWAG bobbled at the start, vied for the lead three wide down the backstretch and gave way on the turn.
