Chart notes
STAR WEAVER had good early speed, dropped back a bit on the turn, came on again three wide through deep stretch and was along in time. MONTEREY PENINSULA pressed the pace two wide into the turn, made the lead, shook clear in upper stretch then couldn't hold off the late charge of the winner. DON'T CROSS JACK raced four wide down the backstretch, moved up three wide through the turn and into the stretch and finished with good courage two wide. GILLIGAN unhurried early, found his best stride late four wide. BREEZY MONEY with the second flight two wide, failed to respond. EL MARRO set a pressured pace along the inside into the turn, gave up the advantage at the five sixteenths pole, kept on past the furlong marker then shortened stride.
