Chart notes
CAERUS had good but ceded the front early to RUSTYS GFIVEFIFTY while being hard held, dueled down the backstretch, then lost the lead to that rival late on the far turn, angled to the outside for the stretch run, responded to strong handling in the stretch, took over the lead from a weakening foe in mid-stretch and won geared down at the finish. RUSTYS GFIVEFIFTY made the front from the break and tried to slow the pace but had to contend with CAERUS as a constant threat to the inside, gained the lead late on the far turn, went clear in upper stretch but weakened with a furlong to go and gave up the lead. TALLAHATCHIEBRIDGE settled in last position in the compact field, was never able to get near the top two, but won the race for the minor award. COPPERHEAD CREEK settled a few lengths off the pace, then lacked a finish.
