Chart notes
MYSTERY MAN was forwardly placed sitting just off the leader, moved up three wide late on the turn, cleared the lead in upper stretch, took on the challenge from rail running QUARTER RAT in the final furlong, dug in gamely and edged clear. QUARTER RAT tracked the early pace, hustled up two wide into the upper stretch, shifted to the rail past the furlong marker, dueled inside of MYSTERY MAN for the late lead and got denied late. ROCK CITY ROCKET raced in contention three wide around the turn, came under a ride at the head of the lane, edged up closer in final stages and lacked a closing kick. IOWA HAWKEYE raced in the back through early stages, saved ground entering the lane, shifted out wider for the drive and gained position. BIG BOSS BEN was not too back in early stages, swung three to four wide into the upper stretch and lacked the needed kick for serious impact. SHIP BOSS sped to the lead at the start, set the pace and held clear into the turn, got collared at the head of the lane and retreated.
