NEWPORT BRIDGE Contested the lead along the two path while keeping CHARLIE'S EXPRESS in tight quarters inside, kicked clear on the turn and under the whip proved best. CHARLIE'S EXPRESS Vied for the lead along the rail, appeared in tight nearing the seven-sixteenths to the three-eighths pole, dropped back on the turn, angled out and finished well. MY COOL HAND LUKE Broke slow, lagged back along the rail, angled out and passed faders. GOLD TEMPLAR Tracked the leaders along the three path, chased and weakened. JOHN'S IN CHARGE Tracked the leaders along the two path and faded inside.
