Chart notes

COUSIN THEO vied with DOMINATE and TOUGH AS AN OX from between horses, shook them off to open a clear lead nearing the quarter pole and maintained a safe advantage. DADDY'S QUEST was reserved off the pace, rallied four-wide the final quarter and finished strongly for the place without threatening the winner. DOMINATE vied for the early lead from along the inside, dropped back slightly on the turn then came on again to earn the show. TOUGH AS AN OX disputed the pace racing three-wide and weakened slightly late. SHINY ORB broke out to bump with LUCKY'S SNIPER then was allowed to settle, came two-wide into the stretch and failed to seriously threaten. R J HALFSHOT saved ground racing in the back of the field and was not a factor. BEAR ENCOUNTER was allowed to settle, came five-wide into the stretch and tired. LUCKY'S SNIPER was bumped at the start by SHINY ORB then was unhurried, rallied six-wide into the stretch and failed to menace.
