PALACE GUARD was forwardly placed along the outside, engaged the top flight three wide at the quarter pole, vied into the upper stretch, cleared command just past the furlong marker, remained confidently handled and held clear. DAWSON'S STORM was allowed to settle in opening stages and save ground, tracked the top trio into the turn, shifted to the four path at the head of the lane, finished with good response and cleared second best. VALE dueled outside of ON A HUNCH up the backstretch, took on the added challenge of PALACE GUARD at the quarter pole, dueled into the upper stretch then flattened in the final furlong. ON A HUNCH vied inside of VALE up the backstretch and into the upper stretch then gave way in the final furlong. NEOKING lacked early speed, saved ground and had no response.
