Chart notes

WHAT'S SHAKIN settled at the back of pack while saving ground along the inside entering the stretch the first time, began to advance midway down the backstretch, battled for the lead while commencing his bid three wide entering the final turn, took the narrowest of advantages entering the lane, and inched clear late to prove best. DIOCLES broke sharply and stalked the leader into the stretch the first time while saving ground along the inside, was carried four wide entering the second turn, battled for the lead two wide from between rivals entering the final turn, was unable to match strides with WHAT'S SHAKIN late, but closed determinedly two wide to prove clearly second best. MOUNT DOOM away well and raced to the lead one out from the rail through the stretch the first time, carried DIOCLES four wide entering the second turn, before dropping back down to put PISCO in tight quarters midway through the turn, continued to set the pace in the run down the backstretch, battled from along the rail entering the final turn, but was unable to keep tabs with the top pair entering the lane, and finished from along the rail to garner a share. PISCO away alertly and tracked the leader into the stretch the first time while racing just out from the rail, steadied sharply midway through the second turn when put in tight quarters, dropped back to trail in the run down the backside, and failed to make a late impact. Following the running of this race, there was a jockey's claim of foul. The rider of PISCO lodged a claim of foul against the rider of MOUNT DOOM for alleged interference midway through the second turn. After review, the claim of foul was disallowed, and no change was made to original order of finish.
