Chart notes
BEN DIESEL raced two wide into the first turn and took over a slim lead, set a pressured pace two wide, settled nicely and raced under a slight hold up the backstretch, let out a notch past the half mile marker, cleared command entering the far turn, saved ground entering the head of the lane, shook the reins, tapped right handed a few times, slightly jumped over a shadow nearing the wire and kept clear. CONTACT TRACING settled through early stages, picked up the pace three to four wide mid-way around the far turn and was set down for the drive, produced a solid bid but could not reach the winner and settled for clearly second best. OUR HEAVENLY GIFT prompted the pace along the inside, weakened off the leader mid-way around the far turn, chased the clear top pair down the lane and prevailed for a share. ASSET BASIS was briefly restless in the gate, rated off the early pace, hustled along three wide around the turn and lacked the needed response for serious impact. WHEELER DEALER was briefly restless in the gate then was forwardly placed around the first turn, stalked the top pair up the backstretch, failed to advance under pressure around the far turn and gave way. ROSIE'S BOY was not too far back along the inside mid-way up the backstretch, weakened around the far turn and continued to tire in the drive.
