Chart notes
THE BEST DISTANCE took the lead from the gate, opened a clear lead on a well rated pace, held the advantage throughout controlling the race and was unchallenged coming home. NIGHT RIDE slow early to be the distant trailer, commenced an extended rally on the far turn closing the gap, circled six wide and closed well with a belated bid in the lane. STARSHIP EMPIRE broke a step slow to be the early trailer, remained unhurried down the backstretch, rallied five wide turning for home and advanced steadily. CASHIER CHECK tracked the leaders from three wide through the far turn to be prominently placed and lacked a closing rally. ROYAL SUSPECT raced mid-pack within striking distance of the leaders, saved ground into the far turn mounting a mild bid, came under a drive and flattened out nearing the quarter pole. RUNAWAY HARRY prompted the pace to the quarter pole and faded in the lane.
