Chart notes
SMITHWICK'S SPICE had a slow start, raced off the pace in the two path, was nudged along behind rivals around the turn, rallied up the inside into the final furlong, and drew away in the final sixteenth. LUCCI stalked in the three path, merged to the rail entering the turn, came under a ride passing the quarter, swung out to the four path at the top of the lane, and ran on but was outfinished by an inner foe to be second best. NOBLE JON bobbled at the start, chased in the three path, fanned out to the six path under a drive turning into the stretch, and kept on to get up for show late. BOAT'S A ROCKIN tracked in the four path, was cued in the two path midway around the turn, floated out to the five path at the top of the stretch, continued on the left lead, and finished evenly. PSYCHEDELIC SHACK set a clear pace while under a hold in the two path, tipped out to the three path while being roused at the top of the stretch, but faded in the final sixteenth.
