Chart notes
TURF STAR was a bit reluctant to load, got away well then settled, stalked from off the leading pair outside the second flight, went three to four wide on the far turn, was asked for run by the five-sixteenths, kicked it into gear in the stretch and surged past late. CIBORIO got away well, pressed the pace racing three wide into the far turn, was asked outside the quarter pole, bid in upper- to mid-stretch taking a narrow lead, was outfinished but second best. THESHERIFFISNEAR broke inwardly, was quick to take the lead, set the pace inside on or just off the rail shadowed then hounded by an outside foe, was asked by the quarter pole, yielded inside the eighth pole. ROYAL CAUSEWAY broke a step slowly, was outpaced and settled at the back, raced on then just off the fence on the far turn, swung five to six wide into upper stretch, rallied strongly while lugging in, was too late. BEDEVILED settled mid-pack off the inside stalking, came into upper stretch six deep and ran on. STILL SOBER was restless in the paddock, bumped a rival at the start, settled at the back near the inside, rallied in tandem with a rival into upper stretch, was forced in a bit then continued to drift in near the sixteenth pole, kept on. TAILORED chased from inside the second flight, dropped back a bit on the far turn, came out a couple paths in the sretch, ran on. GRAY IS OKAY was bumped at the start, stalked from between runners two to three wide in the second flight and was in tight at various points from that vantage point, was ridden along past the three-eighths, checked sharply near the sixteenth as a rival came in. CAMPAIGN QUOTE was outside a foe off the pace and failed to rally. HOMEPAGE was outpaced and never a factor.
