Chart notes
STEER CLEAR went to the front, was well rated while setting the pace off the inside, controlled the action in the two path on the turn, responded well when asked at the quarter-pole, extended the advantage in upper stretch and held under a strong hand-ride. AMERICATHEGREAT settled on the outside, was roused while moving from the four path to the five path on the turn, gained while dropping back to the four path into the stretch, pursued the winner while outside in the drive and willingly earned the place. CATCHY settled at the rear of the field, moved in inside the three-quarter pole, advanced closer near the nine-sixteenths pole, saved ground while waiting behind horses on the turn, was asked in the two path at the quarter-pole, came between horses at the three-sixteenths pole, chased under a drive into the final furlong, drifted in some coming to the sixteenth-pole, willingly earned the show then suffered a catastrophic injury to her left foreleg and fell after the wire then was euthanized on track. FANCY FOOTWORK was hustled from the gate then urged along off the pace, moved closer with five furlongs to run, saved ground on the turn, was roused near the five-sixteenths pole, turned into upper stretch under a drive, chased into the final furlong then dropped back, moved out late and lacked the needed response. ACADEMIA was forced out at the start then bumped with an opponent, pressed the leader under a snug hold early then dropped just off the pace, was coaxed along late on the backstretch, came under stronger encouragement in the two path on the turn, moved to the three path outside the quarter-pole, swung into the stretch in the five path and weakened. IMMACULATE MOON bumped with a rival just after the start, moved up to prompt the pace on the outside of the leader, was asked in the three path on the turn, dropped back into upper stretch and tired. DIVINE PASSION stalked the pace on the outside, was given her cue in the four path on the turn, chased in the six path into the stretch and faded.
