Chart notes
MAJOR WAGER broke a step tardy to be last away, steadily narrowed the gap down the backside, saved ground on the turn, cut the corner turning for home, tipped out in upper stretch and finished well to be clear late. EL GAVILAN pressed the pace down the backstretch, edged to the lead assuming command at the quarter pole, held the lead to mid-stretch, was no match for the winner and ran-on as second best. OVERBORE rated off the pace down the backside racing in the three path, was brushed by the winner entering the turn to be steadied briefly, regained stride quickly and mounted a belated bid in the stretch. ENGLISH TIDE set the fast pace under pressure to the quarter pole and weakened through the lane. MCVICKER stalked the pace through the turn and lacked a closing response. SCIENCE (IRE) went evenly as a non-threat. MITHRIDATES was not a factor.
