Chart notes
QUATROCENTO set the pace inside pressed by an inside foe early then shadowed by an outside rival soon after, dictated terms from on or just off the rail, moved clear willingly coming past the five-sixteenths, was unasked till the three-sixteenths then given just moderate urging while extending the margin, was eased up late while much the best. DEGREE OF RISK settled in the back half of the field racing about three deep into the turn, moved out six wide past the three-eighths, came into upper stretch seven deep, lugged in a path near the three-sixteenths under strong urging, could not reach the winner but held the place. SPIRIT PRINCE bumped a rival at the start, settled mid-pack off the inside in the three to four path, angled six wide coming to the top of the stretch, altered course outside a foe soon after, kept on but needed more while clearly best of the rest. BIG TO DO was allowed to settle into stride and a bit slow to gather lacking early speed, raced outside at the back three to five wide, swung out eight deep turning for home, rallied mildly while drifting in a bit late. ALDER chased from outside four to five wide, came in near the eighth pole and ran on. THE PROCESS was in a bit tight after the start, settled at the back, angled seven to eight wide near mid-stretch, showed mild late interest. ASPENITE was in just a bit tight after the start, moved up to mid-pack inside, saved ground on the turn, shifted out past the five-sixteenths, came past the quarter pole five wide and under urging, needed more. ACCREDIT came out after the start, was encouraged forward, pressed the eventual winner two to three wide, came up empty and faded. STEPPIN SILVER came out after the start, tucked in behind to track up close inside, weakened. UNLOAD was bumped at the start, pursued three to four wide, came up empty. IN A JAM chased from between in the second flight two to three wide, dropped back and faded. GRAND ASPEN was in tight after the start and never near enough to threaten. This race had a timing discrepancy or malfunction and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
