BARRICADE was close up in behind into the first turn switching out on that bend, stalked up the backstretch, moved in racing four wide into the far turn just off the leader, dropped back a bit late on that bend patiently waiting, angled outside foes seven deep at the top of the stretch, bid past the three-sixteenths, dueled then edged past late. WARLANDER broke outwardly, settled mid-pack outside four to five deep through the first turn, advanced five wide on the far turn, moved further to bid at the five-sixteenths taking a narrow lead at the top of the stretch, was engaged by an outside rival by mid-stretch, dueled with that one but was only second best. SMART UNCLE was up close stalking from outside, went four to five wide on both turns, swung out wider for the drive, was no match for the top pair but best of the rest. VINTAGE YEAR settled off the pace three to four wide, took closer order midway up the backstretch, was still toward the back and racing outside on the far turn, came out about seven wide for the drive, kicked on mildly to improve position. THE HIDDEN CHAMBER settled mid-pack inside on the first turn switching out leaving that bend, advanced between foes late up the backstretch, pressed the leader past the three-quarters, bid at the three-eighths taking a narrow brief lead, weakened in the stretch. SALTED CARMEL was forwardly-placed tracking inside, raced up close to the top of the hill, continued in behind saving ground on the far turn, came out off the rail about the five-sixteenths, came into upper stretch four deep, ran on evenly. KULAPAT exchanged light contact at the start, was reserved under a hold at the rear inside, came out a bit late on the far turn, swung six wide into upper stretch, passed tired rivals. GOOD BALI was off the pace two to three wide between, took closer order late up the backstretch, continued to chase between foes on the far turn, came out a bit for the drive, failed to rally. TRACKING ERROR bumped with a rival at the start, settled off the pace near the inside, was not a factor. WRITE OFF JERRY was forced out and in tight at the start, angled in but still caught outside a foe two to three wide at the rear, shifted in about the five-eighths, failed to rally. NAME IT quickly moved clear to set the pace, was shadowed by foes facing some pressure, received more pressure into the far turn, was challenged for the lead at the seven-sixteenths, overtaken soon after, gave way in the stretch. This race had a timing discrepancy or malfunction and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate final time.
