SEVENTEEN BLACK sped to the lead at the start, led the way around the first turn and up the backstretch, took on the challenge from KOBE'S CAUSE at the quarter pole, turned back bid, battled on under firm handling while holding a length advantage and held firm. KOBE'S CAUSE was forwardly placed around the first turn and continued just off SEVENTEEN BLACK up the backstretch, advanced to challenge aforementioned rival at the quarter pole, could not reach equal strides, sustained a solid two wide bid down the lane and secured place. SUCCESSION tracked in range through early stages, came under a ride late on the far turn, cut the corner entering the lane, sustained a steady inside bid and just lasted for show. CINCO DE MO raced up close three wide around the first turn, stalked in good position up the backstretch, came under a ride leaving the far turn, drifted out four wide, shifted in to race two wide in the final furlong and got nipped for show. MIDNIGHT RULES hopped and came away slowly at the start, raced in the back, had no response when called upon and faded in the lane.
