CAERUS remained along the inner rail stalking the pace, eased out to the three path mid way on the second turn, challenged for the lead outside SOLOMONS GOLD entering the far turn, asserted himself through the stretch and drew off. SOLOMONS GOLD set the pace along the rail, was hooked by the winner on the far turn, battled until late and gamely held the place. PUDGE BOY PALACE prompted the pace outside SOLOMONS GOLD and faded. TOAST TO COAST , three wide the first turn, four wide second turn, three wide the final turn, failed to be a factor. MORNING THOUGHTS , four wide entering the first turn, was taken to the inner rail for the stretch run the first turn and failed to be a factor. An objection by the rider of SOLOMONS GOLD against CAERUS for alleged interference near the quarter pole was not allowed.
