Chart notes
MILITARY TIME was away slowly on the start, moved up to watch the leader on the rail in early backstretch, dropped back slightly at the half, pulled the rider closer inside horses at the seven sixteenths marker drafting behind the leader, shifted out coming with a strong rally at the quarter pole, loomed menacingly three wide straightening out for home, stormed past at the furlong pole and was going away impressively at the finish line. VALLEY OF KINGS assumed command leaving the chute, set a moderate pace up top going around the bend unopposed, was headed outside by the winner at the top of the stretch, offered little resistance by the furlong marker and easily bested the rest for the runners up share in the end. APELDOORN was in hand keeping a close eye on the pacesetter outside early on, settled into stride between horses in the second flight at the half, was scrubbed on in mid-pack holding his own through the turn, could not threaten the front two who had it to themselves in the stretch run but did dig in down the lane to hold for a distant third at the wire. KISS ME BABY settled on the outside near the rear in the beginning, improved three deep outside foes down the backstretch to track the frontrunner at the half, ran on evenly in the chasing group three wide around the turn, dueled in the three path for the show award in upper stretch but settled for a minor role in the end. BOLD TIME broke slow to trail the field along the backstretch, could not gain on the leader still at the rear saving ground around the bend, skimmed the fence turning for home under a ride but could not get into contention inside runners in the stretch running.
