SALT SPARTAN broke in at the start trading a bump with CARLIN CONTENTION, who broke outwards, tracked the pace just off the inside to midway on the first turn before tucking inside which forced ALFRED BELLOWS to steady off his heels, tracked along the hedge coming under coaxing near the quarter pole, took the inside route into upper stretch, could not tip out at the three-sixteenths with MAKEYOURMOMENT just to his outside, gained some clearance a furlong out and tipped out to the three path, dug in under a drive issuing a challenge inside the final sixteenth and was just up over a pair of foes on the wire to score. ALITTLEBITNAUGHTY settled just off the inside near the rear of the field, came under encouragement at the five-sixteenths, continued in the two path into upper stretch, angled in to the inside near the sixteenth marker and rallied up the rail issuing a challenge in the late stages and just missed on the line. PRETRIAL STATEMENT broke out at the start bumping RAGAZZO D'ORO, showed the way in hand along the inside patiently handled until roused taking the two path into upper stretch, dug in under a drive under challenge from flanking rivals late and was nailed in the final jump by both foes and forced to settle for the show honors at the end. MAKEYOURMOMENT tracked the pace along the inside coming under coaxing near the quarter pole, spun three wide into upper stretch, weakened in the late stages. CADA DIA MEJOR stumbled at the start, chased two then three wide under coaxing from the five-sixteenths, angled six to seven wide into upper stretch and offered no response. BLUE PILL broke out at the start, chased two to three wide under a ride from the five-sixteenths, angled out five to six wide into upper stretch and improved position to the finish. CARLIN CONTENTION broke out at the start trading a bump with SALT SPARTAN, who broke inwards, chased along the inside under urging from the five-sixteenths, angled four wide for home and passed tired rivals in the stretch. POWERED BY COAL brushed the near side stall at the start, chased two to three wide from just off the pace coming under encouragement at the five-sixteenths, angled five wide into upper stretch and weakened in the drive. RAGAZZO D'ORO got bumped at the start by PRETRIAL STATEMENT, chased just off the inside under coaxing from the five-sixteenths, went seven wide into upper stretch, made no impact. TRINITY RIVER four then three wide into the first turn, tucked to the two path just passed midway, attended the leader from the outside in the two path patiently handled until set down angled four wide into upper stretch, then tired in the drive. ALFRED BELLOWS raced rank along the inside early on and was steadied along the hedge behind SALT SPARTAN six and a half furlongs out, tracked along the inside coming under coaxing midway on the far turn, took the inside route into upper stretch and tired.
