Chart notes
MACLEAN'S ROOK pinched back at the break to be last away, continued devoid of any early foot, swung out widest turning for home, closed with good energy to collar the leader past the furlong marker then kicked well clear. LUNAR LIGHTNING bumped at the start, settled in the second flight while between horses in the two path, remained in the second group exiting the final bend, late run to be up for the place at the wire, not a threat to the winner. POTCAKE broke on top, cleared toward the inside, set a soft set of early fractions while in hand, continued to rate before quickening into the far turn, maintained a daylight advantage into the lane before yielding to the top two the final furlong, caught late for the place. SE THAR BARR went one paced while racing thee wide, crept a bit closer exiting the final turn, continued then in even fashion to the wire in lacking a closing punch. YANCEY within striking distance inside, continued to save ground into the stretch, also failed to muster a closing response. TASKER prompted the leader from the outside for six furlongs, weakened through the stretch.
