DIOCLES away alertly, but was taken in hand and allowed to settle off the early pace while racing two wide into the stretch the first time, continued to bide his time behind the leaders in the run down the backstretch, rallied smartly from along the rail through the final turn, shifted four wide for the drive, but was forced to steady when losing his path, and failed to regain his momentum. MONEYSHOT settled off the early pace while racing two out from the rail through the stretch the first time, began to improve his position with a wide bid in the run down the backstretch, rallied three wide entering the final turn, but was unable to sustain that bid in the late stages. SEAS OF NORMANDY stalked the pacesetter while under a snug hold at the rail entering the first turn, held his position one out from the rail into the second turn, struggled to keep up approaching the final turn, and faded over the final furlong. NAUVOO broke sharply and raced to a clear advantage entering the stretch the first time, continued to show the way through the second turn, was overtaken midway down the backstretch, and weakened over the final furlong. Following the running of this race there were multiple jockey claim's of foul. The rider of WHAT'S SHAKIN lodged claims of foul against the riders of both APPREHEND and RUN RUDOLF. The rider of APPREHEND lodged a claim of foul against the rider of RUN RUDOLF, both for alleged interference on the final turn. The rider of DIOCLES lodged a claim of foul against the rider of LUCKY FORCE for alleged interference in mid stretch. After review the stewards Disqualified APPREHEND from second and placed this horse fourth for causing interference to WHAT'S SHAKIN leaving the final turn. No other action was taken.
