Chart notes
MAGA KAI tracked just behind the pace, never far back, launched a bid from the three-furlong pole to carry four-wide into the stretch, engaged in a four-horse battle down the stretch, and got a favorable bob of the nose on the line. LEONAS GIRL settled off the pace through the early stages, responded when asked to quicken from the seven-sixteenths marker, got an inside run through the turn, finished up well, but got out-nodded at the wire. CONTESSA'S SONG settled three-wide, was being coaxed along into the turn to keep pace, bid five-wide under a drive into the stretch, loomed a danger but hung a bit in the final yards. HURRICANE SAYLOR moved up to take the lead after a slow start, led the way with slight pressure from ELLIE CAN PLAY through the early stages, put that rival away at the top of the stretch, then was beset by a host of challengers in upper stretch and gave way grudgingly in the final furlong. GARAVANI was devoid of speed, was the distant trailer to the stretch, then rallied to make up a ton of ground in the late stages, but was too late to crack the top three. ELLIE CAN PLAY broke on top, ceded front, stalked the pacesetter though the turn, made a bid for the lead approaching the quarter pole, then faltered in mid-stretch. This race had a timing discrepancy or malfunction and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
