Chart notes
BANG A RANG , bumped by METALLIC MAN leaving the starting gate, chased the pace, gained the lead outside KING OF KENTUCKY in upper stretch and eagerly pulled away under steady handling. SWAYBACK JACK stalked the pace down the backstretch, was well positioned three wide leaving the turn and flattened out. LONG SHORTS lacked speed, remained along the inner rail on the turn, swung to the six path approaching the eighth pole and closed late. JABRAN worked between horses on the turn, moved to the four path approaching the stretch and lacked a rally. METALLIC MAN drifted in bumping the winner at the start, remained along the inner rail most of the trip and weakened. ZADDY , wide on the turn, was no factor. KING OF KENTUCKY broke alertly and sprinted clear, moved to the inner rail, set the pace to upper stretch and tired the final furlong.
