Chart notes
RIGHT IN FRONT dueled outside of DISCREET MOB from the outset through moderate fractions, let that rival get the jump turning for home, but battled back, gradually wore down that foe, and held off a pair of other foes to prevail. LIMITED HEATWAVE tracked the leading pair not far back through the early stages, moved up through the turn to engage for the lead at the top of the stretch, battled between horses, but came up short in a blanket finish. VOLS settled well behind down the backstretch, advanced going into the turn, then moved up to challenge for the lead near the quarter pole, was the outside horse in a four-horse fan at the top of the stretch, battled gamely down the stretch, but could not find the extra kick when needed, but held the show. DISCREET MOB was sent to the front under mild pressure from RIGHT IN FRONT to the outside, quickened with that one late on thee turn, took the lead into the into the stretch, then gave way grudgingly in the final yards. CANDY'S CHROME raced close up to the turn, swung out five-wide after passing the quarter pole, then did not respond when asked to go on. GRIFTER was a bit rank coming out of the gate, then unhurried from the start, trailed far back and was never a factor.
