RONDELITO broke sharply and stalked the contested early pace into the stretch the first time while saving ground at the rail, pushed his way out soon after entering the backstretch and rushed up three wide to assume control midway down the backside, maintained a clear lead through the final turn, and was threatened late while proving much the best. ACCIDENTAL GENIUS lagged well back in the early stages while racing two out from the rail entering the stretch the first time, bided his time well back in the run down the backstretch, rallied smartly five wide through the final turn, and finished willingly four out from the rail in the drive to grab the place. DANCING PORKY was squeezed between rivals at the break, and dropped well back in the run to the first turn while saving ground at the rail, continued to trail the field midway down the backside, launched his bid three wide entering the final turn, and split rivals in deep stretch while finishng two wide to just miss the place. MOUNT DOOM rushed up to duel for the lead from the outside of PRIME DIRECTIVE entering the first turn, continued to force the issue through the second turn, was quickly overtaken midway down the backside, battled on gamely from along the inside through the final turn, and gave way grudgingly late. PIONEER STORM KING away alertly, and dropped into a stalking trip from along the rail entering the first turn, maintained his position through the second turn, was pushed out five wide by RONDELITO midway down the backstretch, rallied two wide through the final turn, and finished from along the inside in the drive. ATTACK away well, but was taken in hand and allowed to settle off the early pace while saving ground at the rail through the stretch the first time, continued to bide his time in the run down the backside, rallied two wide entering the final turn, and closed five wide in the drive to improve his position while unable to seriously threaten. PUTTINGONTHEFOIL settled off the contested early pace while racing one out from the rail through the stretch the first time, maintained his position in the run down the backstretch and into the final turn, but lacked the needed closing response when called upon. PRIME DIRECTIVE vied for the lead from along the rail entering the first turn, continued to set a pressured pace through the second turn, was quickly overtaken in the run down the backside, and weakened over the final furlong. CREATIVE UNION settled well off the early pace while racing three wide entering the stretch the first time, was always well off the leaders and lacked the needed closing response when called upon. Following the running of this race there were two jockey's claims of foul. The rider of DANCING PORKY lodged a claim of foul against the rider of ACCIDENTAL GENIIUS for alleged interference away from the gate. And the rider of PIONEER STORM KING lodged a claim of foul against the rider of RONDELITO for alleged interference midway down the backstretch. After review, both claim's of foul were disallowed, and no change was made to the original order of finish.
