Chart notes
DESERT PUNK veered out at the start, then was allowed to settle from the break, was well behind in the early stages, launched a bid from the three-furlong pole, came six-wide into the stretch, and finished up well under steady handling and urging, was being floated out by the runner-up in the late stages, but was up for the win in the final yards. AMERICAN RED tracked three-to-four wide early, then bid four-wide late on the turn, came five-wide into the stretch with the lead, but could not hold off the winner while drifting out several paths in the final stages. TAZ MARKING raced three wide in the middle of the pack early, then was sent along going into the turn to press the leaders, fanned four-wide into the stretch, could not go with the top pair late but outfinished the rest for third. HANDMEDOWN D'ORO sent hard from the break, made the front and vied between a pair of rivals through the turn, battled gamely to mid-stretch, then flatted out a bit in the final yards. HARRYS CHANCE raced in the middle of the pack, came into the stretch with a wall of horses in front, but did not have much left to give at that point. ROYAL LINEAGE broke well and showed good speed from the inside, held sway to the top of the lane, then weakened in upper stretch. SAPELLO SICARIO broke well, contested the early pace from between horses, then gave way in the stretch. ARBITRO lacked any early speed, lagged at the back while racing five-wide, and was unable to menace. BAM AGAIN outpaced early, chased inside and lacked a finish. This race had a timing discrepancy or malfunction and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
