Chart notes
SWASHBUCKLE settled off of the early pace, saved ground into the turn, angled out and loomed at the quarter marker, dueled LOU THE BODY to the final sixteenth, wore down the runner-up in deep stretch and drew clear in the final stages. LOU THE BODY came under urging away from the gate, took early command and set the pace to the turn, kicked clear nearing the quarter marker then was confronted by SWASHBUCKLE turning for home, battled SWASHBUCKLE into the final furlong, was turned away in the final sixteenth and bested the rest. PUCKERED unhurried in the early stages, saved ground into the turn, made a steady advance to mid-stretch, could not find another gear into the final sixteenth and was well clear in the end for third. SPEED CONTROL pressed the pace into the turn, lost position nearing the quarter marker, lacked the needed response to upper stretch and faded in the lane. GIVE ME LIBERTY tracked the early pace from the outside, coaxed along four to five wide into the turn, was outrun to upper stretch and faltered in the drive. SAYBROOK prominent away from the start, raced a bit in tight while three wide and between foes up the backstretch, took back and chased three wide to the quarter marker, was outrun to upper stretch then came up empty in the late stages.
