Chart notes
OURPEPPERMINTCANDY set the pace with BAYLEYWICK applying pressure from the outside, held firm around the turn, hustled along two wide into the upper stretch, dropped over to the inside and kept clear. SWEET MOTHER MARY raced in the second flight mid-way up the backstretch, waited patiently along the inside around the turn, urged along the rail entering the head of the lane, tipped out a path wider for clear racing room near the furlong marker, came under a drive and gained second best. BAYLEYWICK prompted the pace up the backstretch, continued to force the issue around the turn, swung three wide into the upper stretch, ran on with response and cleared the rest. CUPIDS SWEETY raced in the second flight going by the half mile marker, hustled along three wide around the turn, failed to progress under pressure and flattened out. COMFORTS JAZEL raced in the back, saved ground then shifted three wide for the drive and failed to threaten. GOLDYS LOCK raced between rivals in the second flight late on the backstretch, flattened past the mid-way point around the turn and offered no late run.
