Chart notes
KANAZAWA pressed the pace to midway on the turn, engaged the pacesetter at the quarter pole, dueled with that one through the lane and edged away in the final yards. TOVIA tracked the leaders through the turn saving ground, rallied up the inside in the lane, angled sharply out to the clear inside the eighth pole and was gaining late. ON RESERVE set the pace under constant pressure from the winner, vied with that one from the top of the lane until the final hundred yards and was outfinished in a game effort. TRIPLE SECRET trailed in the early going, rallied at the top of the lane and closed fast belatedly to be gaining in deep stretch. MRS. MANICOTTI stalked the pace down the backside, rallied to prominence on the turn and flattened out. BAM BAM was not a threat. SIP'N' SPEED was never a factor.
