TAMARANDO STAR bumped leaving the gate, raced up close four then three wide on the first turn, stalked up the backstretch, bid three deep on the far turn, bumped twice with EASY BREEZY at the quarter pole, gained the lead at the three-sixteenths pole and held well in deep stretch. BIG BET stalked in the two path, drafted behind the leaders two then three wide on the far turn, angled to the inside, rallied inside TAMARANDO STAR but could not get by the winner. BAD TO THE BONES sent for the front on the inside, dueled with EASY BREEZY up the backstretch, vied with outer rivals on the far turn, lost command at the three-sixteenths pole and held third. SIX HOT GRANDS trailed three then two wide early, stayed off the rail to the far turn, came five wide into the lane, challenged from outside in the stretch but flattened in the furlong grounds. EASY BREEZY broke out and bumped, dueled from outside, bumped twice at the quarter pole and churned on to the wire. RHINO stalked five wide on the clubhouse turn, remained widest up the backstretch, started to weaken on the far turn, tired and eased in the final furlong and walked off. THERE WAS A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INVOLVING THE INCIDENT WITH EASY BREEZY AND TAMARANDO STAR IN UPPER STRETCH. FOLLOWING A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS UNANIMOUSLY RULED THAT ALTHOUGH TAMARANDO START DID MAKE CONTACT WITH EASY BREEZY THE INCIDENT DID NOT WARRANT A DISQUALIFICATION.
