Chart notes
NATIONAL IDENTITY settled on the outside, gained in the three path on the turn, rallied to the lead in closer to the four path into upper stretch, shook clear under a strong hand-ride outside the furlong marker, was given one light tap with a left-handed crop while extending the advantage outside the sixteenth-pole and proved much the best under a hand-ride from that point to the finish. LONG POUR showed speed then chased the pace on the outside, went around most of the turn in the two path then dropped to the rail, turned into upper stretch under a dive and kept on to get the place while no match for the winner. ROOFER showed speed then went clear, raced inside for most of the turn then moved to the two path, was asked near the quarter-pole, lost the advantage to the winner into upper stretch and proved no match then lost the place but earned the show. LEO'S REWARD settled under some urging, was ridden along late on the backstretch, went around most of the turn in the two path then moved to the three path and lacked the needed response. UNCLE GEORGE settled in third position, tossed his head inside the half-mile pole then was taken in hand, dropped back leaving the backstretch, saved ground on the turn and failed to respond. DETAIL ORIENTED was ridden along at the rear on the outside, went around the turn in the two to three path and was no factor.
