Chart notes
STEPPE hustled to press the pace from the inside then took the lead near the half mile marker and kicked clear after the quarter pole and fended off the late closer to hold on for the win. AWESOME TRAIN trailed the field to the turn then made a rail bid around the turn, tipped out to two wide for a late run in the stretch but was not enough to collar the winner. PURE CLASS stalked the pace from four wide but was no match for the top two. ROAR OF THE BEAST broke sharply to take the lead to the half mile marker then pressed the pace around the turn before giving way. BIG DATA was restless in the starting gate, saved ground to no avail.
