CURLIN ROCKS tracked the leader into the backstretch the first time while racing one out from the rail, forced the issue two wide in the run to the third turn, before easing back into a tracking trip in the run down the backside the final time, commenced his bid two wide entering the final turn, and closed determinedly one out from the rail in the drive to get up in the closing strides. Y VEE R raced to the lead from along the rail entering the first turn, controlled the pace through the stretch the second time and in the run down the backstretch the final time, maintained his advantage through the final turn, and just failed to last in a brave effort. KEEP IT COMING settled off the early pace while racing one out from the rail in the run down the backside the first time, maintained his position through the third turn and into the backstretch the final time, advanced from along the inside entering the backside the final time, steadied sharply when put in tight quarters at the rail entering the final turn, before regaining his momentum and finishing best of all three wide in the drive to get up for a share. CHICKASAW settled off the early pace while racing three wide into the backstretch the first time, held a stalking trip two out from the rail through the lane the second time and into the backstretch, rallied three wide entering the final turn, but lacked the needed closing response needed when called upon. CREATIVE BID settled at the back of the field entering the backstretch the first time while saving ground at the rail, was always well back and showed little. Following the running of this race there was a steward's inquiry, as well as a jockey's claim of foul into an incident entering the final turn. The rider of KEEP IT COMING lodged a claim of foul against the rider of CURLIN ROCKS, alleging interference entering the turn. After review the claim of foul was disallowed, and no change was made to the original order of finish.
