Chart notes
HOLA JOEY vied three wide for the early lead, continued to duel into the turn then held a slight edge at the quarter pole, battled on holding a slim margin over stubborn running DIAMOND RIM, shook free leaving the sixteenth pole, then was confronted by DEVIL'S TOWER, fought back and held on. DEVIL'S TOWER was well rated and settled off the early pace, picked up the tempo late on the turn, went to go four paths wide into the head of the lane right when TAPATIO LEO angled in, steadied, tipped wider, responded gamely under right handed pressure, finished willingly but could not get to the winner in time. DIAMOND RIM vied between rivals up the backstretch, remained in aim late on the turn, fought back stubbornly along the inside of HOLA JOEY to the sixteenth pole then yielded. DAGGER RANCH was slow into strides at the start and trailed up the backstretch, remained reserved and saved ground around the turn, angled out, made a move in the upper stretch and improved without threatening. TIME TO FLY vied inside of rivals in the opening quarter, continued to race up close around the turn, ran on into the upper stretch then gave way. TAPATIO LEO tracked the early pace, moved up four wide to race in aim for the lead at the quarter pole, swung five paths wide into the head of the lane then shifted in a path and steadily weakened. DESPERATE MAN was forwardly placed up the backstretch, weakened around the turn and continued to tire in the drive.
