NATIONAL ARCHIVE went to the front, was well rated on the inside while setting the pace on an easy lead, controlled the action through the final turn, was asked at the quarter-pole then came under a drive, lost the advantage narrowly to the runner-up outside the furlong marker, dueled with that foe into the final sixteenth, had the rider lose his crop shortly thereafter, battled gamely under a strong hand-ride to the finish and narrowly prevailed. MIDNIGHT CONCERTO saved ground while reserved off the pace, was roused near the quarter-pole, chased under a drive into the final furlong, gained to make a bid along the rail into the final sixteenth, fought determinedly to the finish and just missed while narrowly up for the place. POOKIE bumped with a rival at the start, was rated just off the pace on the inside, shifted off the rail while roused at the quarter-pole, made a bid into upper stretch, took a short lead outside the furlong marker, led under a drive into the final sixteenth, fought with the top two to the finish and was denied while just able to get the show.
