PEPPER J shied in at the start when the inner most pair broke inwards, chased along the inside under a ride from three furlongs out, spun just off the inside into upper stretch and tired. Following a shoe repair in the paddock, REIGN IT IN broke in at the start, chased along the inside and then just off the inside under urging from the seven-sixteenths, angled six wide into upper stretch, tired. ZIP FOR RICK broke a beat slow, raced sluggish early on growing detached at the rear of the field, chased three then two wide under coaxing from the three-eighths marker, spun three wide into upper stretch, made no impact. KULEANA forwardly placed three to four paths off the rail down the backstretch, tucked to the two path through the turn and came under coaxing midway, faded and went three wide into upper stretch, then faltered in the drive.
