Chart notes
JACK SPRAT set the pace while racing well off the rail, drew off on the turn for a clear lead and held safely while kept to task. NIGHTWIND broke out, chased the pace, lacked the needed late response and was no match for the winner. WICKED GUS lagged early, bid off the rail entering the stretch, angled out for the drive and offered a mild bid to get up for show while no threat to the top two. CITY OF GOD was slow early in an outside trip, offered a mild bid only and failed to menace. ONORE saved ground, was through early and failed to threaten. PATCH O'BRIEN was off a step slowly, raced close to the pace, dropped inside to save ground, tired on the turn and gave way.
