Chart notes
IBUKI settled inside just off the early leader VOTARY, always traveling well, moved to engage from the half-mile pole, dueled through the turn, then pulled ahead in mid-stretch and widened the margin to the finish. VOTARY took command of the pace early, then dueled with IBUKI through the turn, but could not go on with that rival from mid-stretch, and finished well clear of the next horse. WAVE SKIPPER came away from the gate awkwardly, was devoid of early speed, lost contact with the field, then made a belated run late on the turn and into the stretch to gain third, but was still well behind the top two. CAUSE IMA ROSE was close up to the half-mile pole, then started to lose ground going into the turn and was not a factor in the later stages.
